LSU vs Alabama!

This weekend LSU faces a tough opponent, Alabama. This should be a good game, featuring two great teams. Hopefully LSU's Glenn Dorsey will be able to play 100%, making a huge difference in the game. I expect LSU's defense to be the key to this game. LSU 24 Alabama 14. GO TIGERS!

So Ready for a Break!

I am so tired of school right now, and really am looking toward a break. We have four weeks left until Thanksgiving Break. But even closer than that, is Halloween! Even though we don't get off for Halloween, it is going to be awesome. This year, our church is holding a Trunk or Treat. We get to decorate our cars, and kids will come and get candy from our trunk. I am really looking forward to dressing up and decorating my car! I really hope that we have a great turn out.

Gospel Meeting!

Wow! This past few days (Sunday through Wednesday), for those of you who don't know, we had a gospel meeting. The guest speaker was Keith Parker. He was absolutely amazing and a very energetic speaker. We had many responses to his lessons and a few baptisms. I really enjoyed going to all of the lessons. I hope we can have more revivals/gospel meetings like this one in the future.

It's Been a While

Wow, it has been a while since I have posted. This weekend, LSU has a very early game against Tulane. I may not be able to watch all of it due to my all state auditions, but it will be a blow out. I really hope LSU does not start Flynn because he needs to stay healthy for Florida, and I hope they don't play Ducet because he needs to stay healthy as well.
I am really looking forward to next weeks game when LSU plays Florida. It will be a close game. Both teams have really good offenses, but who has the better defense? My prediction is 28-25 LSU.

RUSH!

As many of yall know, I was in TN at Freed-Hardeman University this weekend. They had a weekend youth rally type of thing, and Friday was a Moroon and Gold Day. My mom and I drove up Thursday and arrived at our hotel in Henderson around 10:30. They next day I met with my counselor who guided me to all of my meetings with the Chris Brush had set up. I met with Roy Sharp, Lee Hibbett, and Stephen Foster. Roy Sharp was a professor in the Bible Department, Lee Hibbett was a professor in the Business Department, and Stephen Foster was a professor in the Music Department. After meeting with these professors, it gives me a clearer prospective of what I want to do. I have recently looked seriously in youth ministry and business. After meeting with both of those professors, I realized that I really want to become a youth minister and later maybe a pulpit minister. Roy Sharp helped me understand something that was very useful. I told him that I didn't think that I could become a pulpit minister, but I thought I could be a youth minister. I told him this was because I don't understand how I could have a new lesson every week for years. He explained to me that I would always find something new in my studies and will have a better knowledge of the bible after my education and experience in the "field".
After the meetings with the professors I took the ACT, which took forever!!! I would preferred to hang out with some of the students and just walked around the campus.
After that, I met up with Mark who I roomed with. Around 7:00 RUSH officially started with a lesson presented by Brad Montique (sorry if I spelled his name wrong). He was very excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed his lesson. After his lesson, I met up with a few friends and we hung out for a while.
The next day the lessons were given by Jerry Elder and Chuck Morris. Both were very good, and about 30-40ish people responded to Chuck's lesson.
The whole weekend was a blast and I had a great time. I cannot wait until I attend school there. After I got home, I saw a letter had came home from Freed. I quickly opened it and it was a letter officially telling me I had received a academic scholarship! Even though Harding is offering me more money, I am, as of now, planning on going to Freed-Haredman.

LSU game!!!

WOW...amazing....incredible
these are words that describe the LSU game. LSU played very well against Virgina Tech. Both quarterbacks looked very good. Once again Hester, the slowest person in the world, somehow gained positive yards almost every run. Flynn passed for a bunch of yards (not sure of the stats). Our defense....of course played excellent, with Steltz catching his 4th interception of the year! LSU's next two games won't be a challenge, playing Middle TN and Tulane.

Siants Were Horrible!!!

WOW! Saints could not play offense. They just could not score. They had plenty of opportunities but they did not take advantage of them. Instead they looked like the Saints (most of yall will know what that means). Now all we can do is hope that LSU will play better than last week and will beat VT. LSU has the talent, but will they execute their plays fully?

Saints

SO today is the Saints first game....and the first game of the NFL season. I am so excited. They are playing the Colts in Indianapolis. This should be a pretty good game, and I hope the Saints preform well. MY prediction is 28-27.

What a Game!

I have to say that was a great game played by the tigers. However, the first half looked a little weak for a #2 team. Flynn looked unconfortable at first but eventually he got settled down, espcially in the 2nd half. Perrilloux looked awesome as well. He made some great plays, but we have to remember it was agaisnt MSU (although they showed some great defense during the game).

On the other side of the ball....our defense looked amazing. 6 interceptions....3 by Stelzt!!!!!
we also had several sacks...(cant remember how many...but we had quite a few)

But if we want to have a one loss or undefeated season...we need to play better offense!!!

MIKE VI

For all of you who have been waiting to see what the new Mike the Tiger looks like here you go!
Thanks to tigerdroppings.com and greatcatsofIndiana.org I found this picture just now and thought I would post about him.
According to the Vet, MIKE VI or Roscoe, he is huge for being two years old and will probably get gigantic. He also has, according to rumor, a great personality. I am looking forward to seeing Mike the Tiger and hearing the new Tiger Roar!!!!!

LSU FOOTBALL!!

Thursday is LSU football time!! The first game of the whole NCAA season. This should be a win for the #2 Tigers. Les Miles, head coach of the tigers, said that he would not be opposed to playing Perilloux. But Matt Flynn is where the real talent in the QB position will be along with Williams behind him playing as running back. Hopefully this will be a very successful year for the tigers and I expect much from them.

Bible Study!

Hey! Hope all of yall are having a great week. I just wanted to post some stuff about bible study earlier tonight. For those of you who were not there I will explain what we did to catch yall up. Tonight we watched a short clip of Batman Begins. The scene we watched was when he and a couple of girls were at the hotel and he ran into his old friend, Rachael. We watched the scene until right after she said "It's not what you are inside, it's what you do that defines you!" We focused on this line, and more importantly James 2: 14-17. This is the passage where James tells us that faith without action is dead. We made several conclusions: Always be prepared; someone is always watching you; have faith WITH action; and more!
I really agree with the point that we always need to be prepared. Woody made a great point...he used Jesus' parable. We don't know when the bridegroom will come bringing us to the great banquet. We always need to be living righteously. Adding on to his point, it reminds us that we need to be aware that someone is always watching us; looking up to us. We need to be an example all the time.
I really like tonight's lesson. It is kind of a wake up call for me, and maybe some of yall. We need to act like Christians 24/7, in school and out. We need to overcome the pressures of school and peer pressure and be the Christians we said we are. We need to get the log out of our own eye before getting the speck in others!!!!

Fred Thompson II

I posted a long time ago about Fred Thompson and said that I would post about some of his positions. So here you are.....

Abortion: He believes that Roe vs Wade should be overturned. He is pro-life (obviously).

War on Terror: He supports the War and does not believe in removal of troops. However, he does believe that many mistakes have been made since the "invasion" of Iraq.

Boarder Problem: He believes that the the United States needs to secure the border before considering a reform.

Gay Marriage: I have found information stating that Thompson is against gay marriage and would support a gay marriage ban. However, I have also found information stating that he is not in favor of a ban. ..more information on this later.

More on the 2008 Governor's Race

Bobby Jindal has already made some of his positions on popular controversial topics.

Abortion: Jindal is pro-life. He has stated that under no circumstances does he believe that abortion is right. He is completely against the idea. He is in favor of an abortion ban!

Embryonic stem cell research: Jindal is completely against this type of research. He voted no on expanding and allowing embryonic stem cell research.

Same-Sex Marriage: Jindal, in July of 2006 voted YES to ban same sex marriage

I tried looking up Foster Campbell's and Walter Boasoo's position on these same issues but could not find them. However, if any of yall know what their positions are please tell me!!
I am sure that further down the race we will find out where they stand on these important issues.

Summer is Almost Gone!!!

I cannot believe that Summer is almost over. It seems like yesterday that we were just starting the Summer. My summer has been packed with events. I went on a two week vacation, attended two camps and held two jobs. Starting with the end of the summer is the beginning of my senior year. I cannot believe that I am already a senior, and don't feel like one. I really hope that my senior year is awesome and goes by fast. Then after my senior year, I will attend Freed-Hardmen University!!!

Camp!!

So, this past week I have been at camp as a counselor, and it was wild. We had drama out the wazoo. We had boyfriend, girlfriend drama, friendship drama, lots of other drama, but I am not going to go into all of that. Camp will always have drama. However, I would like to focus on positive events such as the great counselor classes taught by Mr. Doug. We participated in mock elderships and solved three problems a day. These were actual problems that churches have experienced. I know I learned a lot during these meetings, and enjoyed taking part in the elderships I was in.

Movie of the Year?

As many of us know, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is coming out on Wednesday. I cannot wait until the movie comes out, and my family and I will be one of the many to watch it at midnight on Tuesday (or if you want to be technical 0:00 hrs on Wednesday). This probably will become the movie of the year bringing in the most money. Speaking of the movie, the last book comes out (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) on July 21, 2007. However, I will not be able to get that book at midnight like i normally do because I will be at a camp, but when I get home you can bet I will be reading the book non-stop.

HORIZONS!

WOW!!!! If I had to sum up the week at Horizons with one word it would be WOW. All the speakers were excellent and were obviously very well prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons given by Doug Burleson, Josh Schwartz, and Webb Williams (not to say the other lessons were not good...they were very good as well). I do not know about the girls classes, but I really enjoyed my speaking class (Adam can you remember the teacher's name?) and my Youth Ministry class taught by Russell Smith and (once again i cannot remember one of my teacher's name...Adam could you help me out). I learned a lot in both classes. The youth ministry class definitely insured my want to become a youth minister. I really liked the talks with our counselor. They open discussions in the dorm room really helped me learn more and understand the application to our lives. I also really enjoyed the dorm devotionals. The singing was awesome and the devotionals were very inspirational in which some were wake-up calls for me The camp was a great learning environment and I learned a lot on how to be a REAL leader. A combination of the campus, the school, the churches around Freed, and the people who are planning on attending Freed, I definitely am planning on entering Freed as an incoming freshman in the fall of 2008!!! Hope to see many of yall there!!

Political Advisor: AND WHY NOT!!

WHY NOT? That is a wonderful question. Fred Thompson is a wonderful candidate. We all know he is going to run. He quit Law andOrder so he could cut off that distraction before the race tensions increased. He is campaigning more and more, becoming mroe involved in the 2008 race. Lets discuss what makes his views differ from the rest of the Republican Party!

1. Abortion
2. Gay Marriage
3. War on Terror
4. Domestic Policy
5. Taxes
6. Plan for Keeping Country Together

My Vacation

As many of you know, I just got back from my two week vacation. It was amazing!! We went through several new states we had never been to including: Illinois, Michigan, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. We saw many waterfalls--one of God's most amazing and beautiful creations. We went to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield where we learned about one of our greatest presidents. We went to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, which was really cool. We also went to the Mount. Rushmore. This special mountain is a memorial to some of our greatest presidents--George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. We saw many other things on our vacation, all were really fun. This vacation was really cool and I will try to post some pictures of our vacation on here.

Political Stuff II

So thinking about my last post, I was reminded of the upcoming election for Governor! A few months ago, John Breaux decided not to run in the upcoming election. This helps out the Republican candidate, Bobby Jindal. He is leading the polls as of right now, but will he be elected? Will Louisiana see past their racism, or will they neglect to vote for Jindal for the same reasons as last election? Personally, I have always liked Jindal, and I think that he is very smart and will definitely do an excellent job in office.

Some Political Stuff

More and more media coverage seems to be covering the next Presidential Election. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are the top two Democratic candidates. Hillary Clinton is striving to become the first women president. She has said that she entered the race intending on winning. On the other hand, the Republican candidates are not as clear. However, two are more popular in the political world, having made names for themsevles before this election race. These two candidates are Rudy Giuliani and John McCain. There are other candidates for both political parties that are running but not as popular as the given above. What do yall think about this next election and who (at this point) has your vote? I know its early but the media has made it seem closer. Seeing how many of you can vote and will be able to vote this next election (those of you who are my age) I think it will be cool to have a mock election.

SO! Sorry its been so long since my last post. I have been busy with school stuff. I know its like two months away, but i just cannot wait until Horizons. I'm literally ecstatic!! This year is going to be awesome. I get to catch up with friends I made last year and make new friends.
